Installing Scrabble consists of the following:

1. Setting some options at the beginning of the crossword.pl file
2. Creating Folders for the uploaded files
2. Using FTP to upload the files
3. Setting permissions on the files

_______________________________________
Here's How!

1. Using a text editor like textpad, or notepad, open crossword.pl
2. Make changes to the variables at the top of the file

Note: some people may have to rename crossword.pl to crossword.cgi in order for their script to work.

# url to script-- how to get the script to come up in a browser:

$URL = 'http://yourserver.com/games/crossword/';

# this is the path to the graphics on the server... make sure to upload the graphics to this location.

$grpath = '/games/crossword/images/';

# path to this script (from server root)

$cgipath = 'data1/hypermart.net/virtualhouse/games/crossword/';

# name of this script (in case you want to rename it)

$script = 'crossword.pl';

# relative path to data storage place
# (suggestion: create a directory called boards within the crossword directory)

$datapath = 'boards/';

# your mailer program... if you don't know, check your FAQs at the server web site.

$emailprog = '/var/qmail/bin/qmail-inject';

# leave this blank if you don't want to be informed when people play

$admin_email = 'youremail@yourdomain.com';

# Body Tags

# Now set the colours that you want to use for the crossword site
# You can make it look like your own site.

$BACKCOLOUR = '#FFFFFF';
$TEXTCOLOUR = '#000000';
$LINKCOLOUR = '#7EBA94'; # text must be visible over...
$VISITLINK = '#339F61'; # visited link
$ALNKCOLOUR = '#ff0000'; # ...$BACK- and $BRDR- colours

3. Save your changes

4. Upload the following files to your server all within the iTreePad directory.
a. the images (to your $grpath directory)
b. the crossword.pl script
c. the "A_New_Game.txt" file to the boards folder

5. Set the permissions for the crossword.pl file to '755'

6. Set the permissions for the boards directory to '777'

That's it! You're all set!

Have fun and happy Crossword playing!

What People Say

Text Chart Tranposer $14.95
Add to Cart When I used the demo to transpose a chart, it didn't transpose the intro. I'm guessing this is because there are no lyrics below these chords.

Can the full version of the program transpose chords that don't have lyrics underneath them? This would be useful for intros, instrumentals, interludes, outros, etc. If not, it would seem a sort of quirk.
