This script scrapes a variety of items from your MySpace profile: the number of friends you have, the number of comments made, and the date of your last login. For bands, it also displays the number of visits to your profile, the number of plays today, downloads today, total plays, and individual song plays each day.
RSS feeds are perfect for getting access to data you want in a quick way-- for example, you might want to put the number of comments people have made about you on your main website, as a link to your MySpace profile... that way people can click the number to read more.
Or maybe you use an RSS news reader and want to know when there are changes to your profile? Use this script to stay up-to-date with what's going on at Your Space.
It's easy to set this script up on your own web server with very little configuration. Or you can use our preview script by changing the URL to suit your situation. For example, my MySpace profile is http://myspace.com/jasondsilver. So take off the 'jasondsilver' part, and put your friend ID in it's place to get an instant feed:
Intelliscript.net/test_area/myspace_rss/fetch_friends_count.cgi?jasondsilver
Some other examples:
Intelliscript.net/test_area/myspace_rss/fetch_friends_count.cgi?scottorr
Intelliscript.net/test_area/myspace_rss/fetch_friends_count.cgi?joannesilver
Intelliscript.net/test_area/myspace_rss/fetch_friends_count.cgi?bafusilier
You can also use the MySpace friend id numbers if you prefer-- it will speed things up just a bit:
Intelliscript.net/test_area/myspace_rss/fetch_friends_count.cgi?68983036
This script scrapes these items from your MySpace profile:
- the number of friends you have
- the number of visits to your band profile
- The song plays today
- Your band's song downloads today
- Your band's total song plays
- Your band's individual song statistics
- the number of comments made
- and the date of your last login.
I also plan to add the blogs you've posted, and maybe even the actual comments with pictures on your space.
If you have a suggestion for this script, I'd love to hear it. Pass it on.
